CMS Board Norms
February 27, 2022
The CMS Board crafted and agreed a set of norms to formalize our interactions with each other and our stakeholders. Our wish is that these respectful interactions will set a good example for how we operate our schools.
School District Roles
Our board and superintendent worked together to develop this infographic to help us articulate and understand the roles that work together to make our schools the very best. It is important that we respect the responsibilities of each role and and support each other to create the best outcomes.

Anti-racism Anti-Oppression Hotline
The Anti-Racism Anti-Oppression Hotline – (505)-226-3911 – went live on Monday and is now available for students, families and community members to report school-based incidents of racism, injustice or discrimination against anyone. Callers will reach a trained department employee from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; if calling after hours, they can leave a message. The hotline was established as a requirement of the Black Education Act, passed in the 2021 General Session of the Legislature.

School Board Meeting Update
April 07, 2020
The health, safety, and well-being of our students, staff, and families is our number one priority.
On Monday March 23, 2020, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham announced additional restrictions to disrupt the spread of the COVID-19 virus in New Mexico and instructed New Mexicans to remain in their homes or places of residence except for outings necessary for health, safety and welfare.
In light of these new restrictions, the Cimarron Municipal School District is taking extra precautions with necessary meetings. All Board of Education meetings will be virtual meetings for the foreseeable future, until the restrictions change or are rescinded.
The situation with the Covid-19 virus continues to evolve quickly, and we will be monitoring it closely. In the meantime, you can participate in the work of the Board of Education by joining our meetings via teleconference (joining instructions will be published on the agendas) or emailing input, comments and questions to board members at Email Cimarron Schools. Contact information for individual board members appears below on this page. We appreciate your support.
